There’s a moment every hunter knows, but it’s hard to put into words.

You’re sitting in the dark, long before daylight. The woods are quiet at first. Still, almost empty.

Then, little by little, it starts. A squirrel rustling in the leaves.

An owl calling from somewhere down the ridge.

The faintest glow of light beginning to push through the trees.

And before you even realize it, the whole world around you is waking up.

The real world, true reality, and the kind of peace you just don’t find anywhere else.

It’s not just hunting in that moment.

It’s something deeper than that.

Something you can’t really explain unless you experience it.

No noise. No stress. No pressure from the modern world.

Just you, God, and nature.

That’s what this is really about.

Why This Site Exists

Bluegrass Whitetail was built for folks who live for that feeling. Not the highlight reel. Not the grip and grin photos. But the quiet mornings, the long sits, and everything that comes with being out there when most of the world is still asleep.

I created this site because it brings together three things I genuinely care about

  • The peace of being outdoors

  • Deer hunting in real Kentucky terrain

  • Technology

Yeah, I know that last one feels a little out of place.

Most guys are either talking trail cams and wind direction, or they are talking AI and automation. I somehow ended up doing both and figured why not use that to build something useful.

So this site is my way of blending old school hunting knowledge with modern tools to help you become a more effective hunter. That might mean better planning, smarter gear decisions, or just understanding deer behavior on a deeper level.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Real world hunting strategies that actually apply to Kentucky

  • Seasonal insights based on weather, pressure, and deer behavior

  • Gear recommendations that are practical, not just expensive

  • Tools and ideas to help you hunt smarter, not just harder

  • No fluff. No hype. Just useful information you can take into the woods.

Where This Is Going

Right now, Bluegrass Whitetail is focused on building solid content and helping hunters get better.

Down the road, you will start seeing

  • Custom hunting tools and forecasts

  • Downloadable resources built specifically for Kentucky hunters

  • Smarter ways to plan hunts using data and automation

And yes, maybe a few things that lean into that tech side a little more than most hunting sites.

The Bottom Line

At the end of the day, this is about more than just harvesting a deer.  It is about those quiet moments in the stand. The lessons you learn out there. The reset you do not even realize you needed.

Whether you are chasing your first deer or trying to outsmart a buck that has been dodging you for three seasons, the goal is the same.

Spend more time doing what you love and make it count when you are out there.

If that sounds like you, you are in the right place.

Our Team

Right now, it’s just me.

I’ve been hunting in Kentucky since I was around 8 years old… I think. I’m getting to the point where that far back is a little fuzzy, but I do know it started young and never really let go.

I grew up hunting with my Dad, my brother, my uncle, and a great group of friends. Early mornings, long sits, learning the hard way, and picking up things you only get from time in the woods. That’s where most of what I know comes from.

Somewhere along the way, I also ended up building a career in technology. I’ve spent years working in AI, automation, data, and software development, helping solve complex problems in the real world. Turns out, some of that thinking actually applies pretty well to deer hunting too.

So now I get to combine both worlds. Part hunter, part tech nerd, and probably overthinking wind direction more than I should.

This will grow over time, but for now, it’s just me sharing what I’ve learned and continuing to figure it out like everyone else.
